It is prudent to remember that the insurance agent is not necessarily your friend. At best, you get good advice and a good product that meets your needs and the agent deservedly earns commission. 

At worst, the agent earns a fat bonus and commission while you spend excessively on a product that only seems to meet your needs but in the most expensive way possible.
