Walking back from MPS after not attending for quite a few months due to family and work commitments. Caught up with the people there and even got to speak to Mr Lim for a while.
Since I’m the resident techie there, my services were immediately called upon to fix a problem with his phone because he was not familiar with how it worked and he got it at the last minute after his previous phone failed him.
Wasn’t a big problem really, just had to disable the ActiveSync and all was fine. 🙂

Had lunch with one of my Indian vendors. Found out that he and his team were not very sure of where to go for their lunch and had always been eating at the same shops around my workplace. Brought him to Vivo Kopitiam so he could learn how to go there and try other types of food.
Carrying your notebook around increases the possibility of it getting lost. How much the possibility increases depends on how careful a person you are. Have you ever wondered what would happen if you lost your notebook? Don’t even think about the financial cost of replacing the notebook. What about all that data?
First of all, you really should have the discipline to backup your documents if you do not already do so –Think I’ll cover that in another article. The next thing to do will be to encrypt your data so even if your notebook gets into the hands of another person, they will have no access to that data.
I highly recommend FreeOTFE for this purpose. I have been using it for a while now and its extremely stable. Think the resource footprint is also quite small as you won’t even remember you have it running until you shutdown your notebook and you’re reminded by FreeOTFE to dismount all secure volumes before shutdown.

Every working day takes me past this place called Wollerton Park. It triggers a memory of a party that these 2 Indonesian girls (Isabella and Imelda) organised while I was in Primary School.
Think the party is mostly a haze now, but I can remember these things:
1. I was somehow forced to dance
2. Dekun did a slide across the floor while dancing and crashed into a girl
3. Johnny Mak was dressed in some spiffy threads
Drove down to Sheng Siong in the pouring rain and waited for PILs to buy groceries. Esh, Lee-Ann and I were in the safe confines of the car.
At this time, I was queueing up for Lor Mee at Tiong Bahru market.
Discovered that WordPress gets formatted more nicely on IE than on Firefox. The pics from Flickr were all distorted on Firefox…
This is one of those childhood things that I missed. I remember when I was a kid and my family often went to Tah Chung at Queenstown. There was a supermarket at the ground floor which sold ICEE as well. Mum and Dad usually bought me and my sister one cup each. It was really cool to have coloured tongues after drinking it.
Somehow it disappeared off the Singapore market and it was replaced by Mr Frostee from Seven-Eleven, but it is not the same because it didn’t trigger any memories.
Esh and I were ecstatic to find ICEE in San Francisco, so we couldn’t resist buying one from a Mrs Field’s booth.
